How do I make a reservation?

You can make a reservation by calling us at 281-354-7768.

We will ask you questions regarding your pet in order to set up a profile in our system.

For Daycare, we ask that you please send in your paperwork in advance for us to review (Doggie Daycare Enrollment Package and Vaccination Records).

Once we have received and reviewed the paperwork, we will contact you to set up your pup’s evaluation day. Evaluations are typically available Mon – Thurs by appointment.

What is the minimum age for boarding my pet?

Minimum age for boarding is 4 months (or finishing all required vaccinations)

What vaccinations do you require for my dog to stay here?

Vaccinations Required – Rabies, DHPP (Distemper, Hepatitis, Parainfluenza, and Parvovirus) and Bordetella. Most dogs will receive their initial vaccinations as puppies and will require further booster vaccinations through their lifetime. Currently some vaccinations are required every year and others every three years. Please check with your Veterinarian to see when your dog’s boosters will be due. The Kennel Cough or Bordetella vaccination is given to dogs that will be in contact with other dogs (grooming, boarding, doggie daycare and dog park). Please confirm that your dog has been vaccinated for Kennel Cough, it is not part of some core vaccination programs. If your dog is not current and needs boosters, vaccinations must be given a minimum of 10 days before evaluation. Some dogs may have reactions and some vaccines have a waiting period before they are effective.

Does my dog have to be spayed/neutered to stay here?

All dogs are welcome to stay however, dogs that are over 7 months of age and not spayed or neutered will not be able to participate in group play.

My pet has special needs, can South Paw administer medication?

We can administer most medications while your dog is staying with us however, some medical issues such as Diabetes are best dealt with under the care of a Veterinarian.  Please inform staff of all your pet’s medications at check in. All medications must be brought in their original packaging and clearly labeled with your pet’s name and dosage.  If your dog has other needs or is post-surgery, please discuss with our staff and we will gladly try to accommodate their needs.

Can my dogs stay together?

Yes, pets that belong to the same family may stay together. We also give a discounted rate for the second and subsequent pet(s) using the same suite. Households with multiple pets may share a room but the dogs must be comfortable eating together – we do not have the facilities to feed all dogs kenneled together separately.

Can I bring my own food?

For the benefit of your pet, we recommend that you bring their own food in pre-measured and pre-marked zip lock baggies or an air tight container labeled with your dog’s name.  This is to maintain your pet’s normal diet and prevent digestive upset.

Can I bring my pet's favorite toy, blanket, or bedding?

Please label all of your dog’s personal items and list them at check in time. We ask that all items be dishwasher or washing machine safe. Please remember that South Paw cannot guarantee the return condition of personal items, some dogs are more destructive while boarding. It is best to not bring items if they are not replaceable.

I need to board my dog but I am worried he may be sick. Can I still board him?

We do not board or permit any dog on premises with any contagious illnesses or diseases.

How do you ensure my dog won't get sick at your facility?

We want to create and maintain a germ-free environment that is safe and fun for your dog At South Paw we try to lower the risk of disease by having an extreme non-toxic cleaning regimen.  Everything the dogs come in contact with is cleaned every day.  The floors, the playroom walls, the yard, toys, etc.

Please remember that some illnesses are highly contagious and no amount of supervision, sanitation, or personal care can guarantee complete prevention. For the health and safety of your dog and all dogs, we do not board or permit any dog with contagious illnesses or diseases on the premises.

My dog failed your temperament test. Why?

There are many reasons why a dog could fail a temperament test.  The environment can be overwhelming or over stimulating for some dogs. Please understand that not all dogs are suited for daycare. If we express concern with your dog’s behavior or dismiss your dog, we feel it is in the best interest of your dog. We want all dogs to learn positive behaviors and to benefit from their experiences at daycare.
